I want to thank Derek for putting together this devotion on Genesis 18 for me while I am recovering from strep throat. He stepped in at zero hour to help me keep our recording schedule on time and delivered something that both sounds entirely different than my voice on the subject (literally and figuratively in this case), and yet is so in line with the themes of God moving in the stories of people in the narrative, stepping in to the geek and the outsider, and showing how these stories show up in the stories playing out around us every day.
When God tells you that He’s up for doing something awesome – it’s ok to laugh. But leave room for it to be laughter bubbling up from the wonder of it rather than one that cannot accept that God will move.
