B.A.R.D. Project 3: The Little Match Stick Girl

It’s the holiday season, so I knew I wanted to do a B.A.R.D. Project – which stands for Biblical Articulation Read Deliberately – about the holidays. There are a large number of well trod holiday texts I could have pulled from, but the Bard & Bible is often a place where we hope to see what we might find in the untrod paths. After asking my supporters on Patreon for a little guidance, they lead me to a snow-covered corner formed where two houses came together, and to a little girl whose story resonates powerfully on a number of levels.

This story by Hans Christian Anderson is in the public domain, so it can be found in numerous places. You can find the text I read from here.
