Fight Ebola with Pandemic Parties

What if you made a game about fighting disease epidemics across the world, and then a disease that is curable, yet still incredibly dangerous, lethal, and spreadable without the proper precautions was raging across the globe?

What if you could rally fans of that game to raise funds to help those with the knowledge and skills to fight the disease do what they do to help end this epidemic?

Global-Pandemic-Party-LogoWell, your name would be Matt Leacock and you’d get people to play Pandemic to raise money for Doctors Without Borders to aid in their efforts to fight Ebola. Their goal is to raise $100,000 by the end of January 2015, and I think we can help.

If you don’t know, Pandemic is a cooperative board game in which the players are doctors and other emergency health related characters trying to save the world from 4 global pandemics. It is a challenging game that can be brutally hard depending on how you choose to play, representative of the challenges to fight outbreaks that reach these epic levels.

If you would like to create your own Pandemic Party – you can go to pandemicparties.com to find out more information about the event and participation in it. You can also download fliers, party materials, and even special gamer-related role cards for use with the game.

Whether you just get a couple buddies together and put out a can to catch loose change, teach your kids about giving by playing Pediademic, or create a large scale event – every dollar raised from now to January 31st goes to help end this horrible disease.

InnRoads wants to support you guys as you play – so if you have signed up to host a party or are attending one near you – leave a comment below and we’ll be sure to mention it on our twitter and facebook. We’ll also promote it on Game Store Prophets episodes if we can!
