Tale #7 – Role & Ritual

We use the word ‘ritual’ to describe everything from the silly to the sublime. We use it to describe wearing the same pair of socks until our team makes it through the playoffs, as well as the means by which we connect to our Creator in worship. In this tale, I talk a bit about a cleric I played in D&D – and how he was rubbish when it came to the ritual acts of his faith. How he reminded me that empty ritual is meaningless and easily forgotten, but ritual that moves us towards God and to His people is a powerful thing.
