There are times that an episode gets delayed due entirely to logistical reasons. Then there are times when God Himself seems to hold it back – whether for my own benefit or the benefit of the audience. As the world reels in the midst of a global pandemic, I think we may have been part of the latter here. I’m pretty sure we all need to hear about Elijah in 1 Kings 19 – when, even after a legendarily epic display of God’s power and the prophet’s authenticity as His spokesman, you see a terrified, hungry, exhausted, and broken man who isn’t done doing the work God has for him yet.
And in this – God sent a messenger with a message that simply said, “Arise and eat. I brought donuts.” – only slightly paraphrasing.
There is a lot of fear, strife, confusion, and sadness in these times. Wash your hands, take a nap, and have something to eat. God is not done with us yet.
