Mike’s Top 10 of Tabletop – #8 Abyss

#8 on the list is the first one that I love a lot that has seen mixed reviews from people in the community. Some people really enjoy it and find it an interesting use of simple mechanics, while others see it as an over-produced card game with a price tag that flies higher than the play value demands.

Abyss finds the players jockeying for position in the political power vacuum after the Lord of the Abyss dies leaving no heir to his throne. You have to curry favor with the other lords by recruiting allies from the various factions and unlocking powerful locations in this underwater world.

Honorable mention this time goes to Lords of Waterdeep
