Are you excited yet? As I write this post, we are less than THREE DAYS away from Extra Life and 24 hours of gaming to help the kids, families, and staff at Children’s Specialized Hospital here in New Jersey. This year we have rallied the biggest team to date – bringing people all over the country together between our local event, team member game days, and a couple folks hitting the internet with video game streams. There will be some of us who will open the doors at 8am and not emerge again until the following morning. There will be some who can only give a few hours of their time, but at the end of the day – we’re all just playing for these kids.
In past years, my “this is where we are so far” posts have been glorified pleas for donations. While we have always done well by our hospital by the end of the event, the weeks leading up to Extra Life tend to be quiet.
But THIS YEAR …
Days away from from the event, Team InnRoads Regulars has raised over $1000 for Children’s Specialized! Thank you so much to all of you who may have donated in support of our team. This level of support this early is unprecedented for us. However, we still have a ways to go. When we began setting up the team this year, we set the goal at $1500. This amount will provide long-term care in the hospital’s facility for a child and their family for an entire WEEK. That’s been the call to arms here at InnRoads HQ. We want to give a kid a week of care so badly we can taste it, and we’re so close.
There is still plenty of time to sign up to be part of the team and play with us. If you can’t get out and play with us or with your friends, I hope that you will consider donating and supporting our team. I would love nothing more than to come back on Sunday with reports of how we broke past our goals for these kids.
